Intense winter grazing hinders Italian ryegrass growth in soybean rotations.
Intense winter grazing can harm the growth of Italian ryegrass in soybean-pasture rotations. The study looked at different levels of grazing intensity and additional seeding in Brazil. Intense grazing led to fewer ryegrass plants but bigger individual plants. Adding more seeds didn't fully make up for the lack of natural reseeding. Moderate grazing, with taller grass, is needed for a sustainable system without extra seeds.
