Climate change leads to unfavorable conditions for tree growth in poplar plantations.
The researchers studied the microclimate in a poplar plantation in August 2008 and 2010, during years with higher temperatures than usual. They found that in 2008, there was less rainfall, while in 2010, there was more. The analysis showed that in 2008, the daily temperatures were higher, leading to lower humidity levels. This decrease in humidity could negatively affect the growth of the trees in the plantation.
