The goal of the study was to develop a practical method for estimating the duration of construction projects for roads and bridges in Nepal. Researchers analyzed data from completed projects over the past five years to create a formula that relates project cost to duration. They found that as project cost increases, the duration also increases, but at a decreasing rate. This is because higher-cost projects often involve more simultaneous activities and advanced technologies. The formula they developed can help government agencies, contractors, and consultants accurately estimate the duration of road and bridge projects in Nepal with costs exceeding two crore.
