Novel approach improves group decision making in uncertain business environments.
A new method for making group decisions when things are uncertain was developed. It involves a third-party person helping out. To figure out how important each person's opinion is, a special theory called evidence theory is used. People's fuzzy preferences are also taken into account to better understand what they like. By combining everyone's opinions using a special math method, the best choice can be found. A way to measure how much everyone agrees is also created to help everyone come to a decision together. A real-life example showed that this method works well for making group decisions when things are uncertain.
