New Study Reveals Citrus Cultivars Show Unique Photosynthetic Patterns
The study looked at how different types of citrus plants absorb sunlight and use it for growth. They found that Unshiu and Bendizao citrus plants have two peaks of activity during the day, while Kumquat plants have one peak. All three types of citrus plants grow better when there is more sunlight and warmer temperatures. However, they don't like high humidity or too much carbon dioxide in the air. The efficiency of water use in all three types of citrus plants decreases over the course of the day. Overall, Unshiu plants have the highest photosynthetic rate, followed by Bendizao and then Kumquat.
