Selangor Coast Facing Very High Erosion Vulnerability Due to Sea Level Rise
The goal of the study was to assess how vulnerable the Selangor coast in Malaysia is to erosion caused by rising sea levels. Using satellite images, the researchers looked at factors like coastal shape, slope, erosion rates, wave height, tidal range, and sea level rise. They found that one area, MU 7 Pantai Jeram & Bagan Sungai Janggut, is at very high risk of erosion compared to others along the coast. This information can help decision makers and authorities plan ways to protect coastal areas from the effects of climate change.
