Parents' Morality Shapes Gen Z Teens' Values More Than Expected
Parents' behavior greatly influences the moral development of their Generation Z adolescent children. A study involving 52 high school students and their parents found that both parents and adolescents mostly follow Principle Morality, particularly the Equality Source. While there is no significant link between parental morality and that of their children, fathers seem to have more influence. The study suggests that family strengthening programs should focus on parent education and training to enhance moral development in adolescents.
