Intercropping sorghum and greengram boosts yields and profits in Gujarat.
A study was conducted to compare how well sorghum grows on its own versus when grown with other crops in south Gujarat. The soil had low nitrogen but high phosphorus and potassium levels. Sole sorghum had the highest grain yield, but sorghum paired with greengram in a 2:1 ratio had the best overall yield, land use efficiency, and economic returns.
