EU nations lead the charge towards renewable energy, set sights on climate neutrality
European Union countries are working towards using more renewable energy sources to combat air pollution and climate change. The researchers looked at how different countries are doing in meeting their renewable energy goals. They found that countries like Denmark, Ireland, and the United Kingdom are doing well by increasing the use of sources like biofuels, wind, and hydropower. 14 countries have met their 2020 targets, with 4 surpassing even the 2030 goals. These leading nations have decreased energy use and greenhouse gas emissions more than others in the EU. The main aim is to boost energy production from clean sources, and these countries are succeeding in making their energy consumption more sustainable.
