The study used a computer model to figure out how to make light commercial vehicles use less fuel in different driving situations. They looked at how changing the design of the vehicle affects fuel use in specific driving cycles. By running virtual tests, they found out how much fuel is used on average when certain parts of the vehicle are changed. The researchers also showed how energy is used while the vehicle is moving.
