Design models are important tools for representing information in the design process. A study interviewed practitioners and researchers in engineering and building design to understand how they collaborate and use design models. The study found that there are differences in how design models are used in building design compared to engineering design. These differences can lead to opportunities for sharing knowledge and ideas between the two areas of product development.
