Sorghum and greengram intercropping boosts yield and soil fertility.
A study was conducted to see how different ways of growing sorghum and other crops affect yield and soil quality. They tested nine methods, including growing sorghum alone and with other crops like greengram and blackgram. The soil had low nitrogen but high phosphorus and potassium levels. The results showed that growing sorghum with greengram in a 2:1 ratio gave the highest grain yield. This method also had the highest Land Equivalent Ratio (LER), meaning it was the most efficient way to use the land for growing crops.
