Biochar effectively reduces heavy metal contamination in soil, improving environmental health.
The researchers studied how adding biochar made from pig manure and fruit charcoal to soil contaminated with heavy metals like copper, cadmium, lead, and mercury could help clean up the soil. They found that adding fruit charcoal was more effective than pig manure charcoal, and when 10% fruit charcoal was added, it worked best in reducing the heavy metal content in the soil.
