Floral diversity study reveals urgent need for conservation in Cameroon park.
The study looked at the different plants in Kimbi Fungom National Park in Cameroon to see how diverse they are. They found that the park has 222 different plant species, with the most common families being Fabaceae, Rubiaceae, and Euphorbiaceae. The trees were most abundant in the lowland forest and least in the grassland. The diversity of plants was highest in the lowland and gallery forests. Some plants in the park are unique to Cameroon, while others are at risk of disappearing. Protecting the park and its plants is important to prevent them from being lost due to human activities.
