High drying temperatures reveal hidden organic matter in problematic soils.
The researchers studied how different drying temperatures can help determine the amount of organic matter in soils. They used special soils from 21 test pits in Istanbul and applied two different drying temperatures (440°C and 750°C) to see how they affect the organic content. The findings showed that higher drying temperatures can more accurately determine the organic matter content in soils.
