East Asia Faces Challenges in Financial Cooperation Compared to Europe.
The paper compares financial and monetary cooperation in East Asia with Europe. East Asia faces challenges due to weak motivation for integration and lack of experience in negotiations and institution-building. Japan and China may not lead cooperation efforts. However, there is growing awareness of Asian culture and more exchange of ideas among scholars and policymakers in East Asia. To maintain integration, clear cooperation needs and an institution for distributing benefits are crucial.
