New Wetlands Show Promise in Cleaning Polluted Streams for Cleaner Lakes
A wetland was built to clean up polluted water in Lake Sihwa. The wetland was tested for its ability to improve water quality by monitoring plant growth and water conditions. The wetland did not perform as well as similar systems in North America, but it still helped reduce pollutants in the lake. The wetland could work better with some improvements in how it's operated.
