New Study Finds Innovative Solution to Prevent Clogging in Wetlands!
Clogging is a common issue in wetlands, but using lightweight ceramsite as suspended media beds can help reduce it. Different sizes of ceramsite were tested alongside gravel in purifying water and preventing clogs from non-deformable inorganic, deformable inorganic, and organic particles. The ceramsite beds were effective in removing turbidity and suspended particles, with less clogging in organic particle wastewater. When clogged, the ceramsite floated with water level changes, easing clogging in the wetland.
