Organic farm manure boosts maize growth in sandy soils over clay.
The type of soil and amount of organic fertilizer used can affect how well maize plants grow. In this study, researchers looked at how different soil textures and levels of farm manure impacted the root growth and overall growth of maize plants. They found that adding organic fertilizer up to a certain amount improved plant growth, but too much could actually decrease growth. Maize plants did better in sandy loam soil compared to clay loam soil. This shows that the type of soil and the amount of organic fertilizer used can make a big difference in how well maize plants grow.
