High-density planting boosts Indian mustard productivity and water efficiency.
The study looked at how different planting densities and nitrogen management methods affect the productivity, quality, and water-use-efficiency of Indian mustard in a conservation agriculture system. They tested three planting densities and five nitrogen treatments to see which combination worked best. The results showed that high-density planting with alternate row harvesting for mulch at 35 days after sowing, along with 75 kg of nitrogen per hectare as basal application, led to the highest productivity and quality of Indian mustard while also improving water-use-efficiency.
