The study compared summer rainfall in Nepal and South Korea to understand the connection between South Asian and East Asian monsoons. Data from 1981-2010 showed Nepal gets more rain than South Korea, with July being the wettest month in both countries. South Korea has more variation in rainfall from year to year. Rainfall in Nepal is linked to rainfall in South Korea. Wind patterns play a role in how rain moves between the countries, with westerly winds bringing rain to Nepal from the Arabian Sea and Pacific winds bringing rain to South Korea.
