Optimizing Fertilizer Use Boosts Wheat Yield in Southern Ethiopia.
Bread wheat in Southern Ethiopia benefits from nitrogen and potassium fertilizers. Testing different amounts of these fertilizers showed that using 46 kg of nitrogen and 30 kg of potassium per hectare resulted in the highest grain yield of 4392 kg per hectare. This combination also led to the best nutrient uptake and use efficiency, meaning the plants were able to make the most of the nutrients provided. This study suggests that applying these specific amounts of nitrogen and potassium can help wheat farmers in the area increase their yields and profits.
