Water Replenishment Boosts Phosphorus Levels in Urban Lake, Study Finds
The study looked at how adding water to Dongchang Lake affects the levels of total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP). They found that during water replenishment, TP levels increased at each point, with non-sediment water having higher TP levels. After replenishment, TP levels decreased. TN levels followed a similar trend to TP, but remained high for a few days after water was added. The study suggests that strategies to improve the lake's water quality should consider these findings.
