Poyang Lake was evaluated for its ecosystem functions, focusing on water storage, flood regulation, soil protection, CO2 fixation, O2 release, soil and water purification, and habitats. The total monetary value of these functions was found to be 3,627 billion yuan, with flood regulation being the most important function, accounting for nearly 44% of the total value, followed by soil and water purification at about 38%.
