Foliar Potassium Boost Saves Drought-Stricken Maize, Feeds Vulnerable Populations
Foliar potassium sulfate application can help drought-stressed maize plants grow better. The study tested different doses of potassium on two types of maize plants under varying levels of drought. Severe drought reduced plant growth and chlorophyll levels, but applying potassium sulfate at a 2% concentration improved growth, water content, chlorophyll, and proline levels. This shows that foliar potassium sulfate can help maize plants cope with drought stress.
