Climate change to drastically alter subalpine forest landscapes on Tibetan Plateau.
Subalpine forests in the eastern Tibetan Plateau are being affected by climate change. A study used a model to predict how the forests will change from 2016 to 2096. The results show that cold temperate coniferous forests will expand, forests will move to higher elevations, and total aboveground biomass will initially increase before decreasing. This study helps us understand how climate change will impact forests in this region and can help us plan better forest management strategies for the future.
