Laminated car windows drastically reduce head injury risk in crashes compared to tempered glass.
A study looked at how side windows made of laminated glass protect people's heads during car crashes. Laminated glass is safer than regular glass because it has layers that don't break easily. Researchers tested dummy heads hitting both types of glass and found that laminated glass lowers the risk of head injuries more than regular glass at the same speed. They then made a computer model based on their tests to see how different glass thicknesses affect head injuries. Thicker glass is better for preventing head injuries during car accidents.
