Decision making in construction is crucial for success, and Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods help by considering multiple factors at once. A review of 530 construction articles from 2000 to 2019 shows that MCDM methods are increasingly used in real-world construction problems. The research trend is analyzed through bibliometric analysis, and the application of MCDM methods in construction is discussed by themes. Potential challenges like applicability and robustness are identified, leading to recommendations for future development of MCDM methods in construction research and practice.
