Sandy gravel soil strength and deformation characteristics revealed under large-scale tests.
The article analyzes how sandy gravel soil behaves under different pressures in large-scale tests. It found that sandy gravel gets weaker under low pressure but stronger under higher pressure. When the pressure is reduced, the soil softens, and its strength increases as the pressure goes up. The soil also expands when pressure is low but less so as pressure increases. The study shows that a specific mathematical model works well for predicting the behavior of sandy gravel soil.
