Navigating Social Pressures: Women's Decisions on Medications in Pregnancy.
The study looked at how pregnant women make decisions about taking medications that haven't been studied in pregnancy, like HIV prevention drugs. They interviewed women, male partners, health providers, and young women to understand the social influences affecting these decisions. The findings show that women consider factors like support from partners, family, and friends, as well as gender roles, when deciding whether to use these medications during pregnancy.
