Faba bean plants were studied to see how different traits affect their growth and yield. The researchers looked at 19 different characteristics in 96 types of faba beans over two years in two locations. They found that most traits showed significant differences among the plants, except for a few like leaf width and days to flowering. Some traits had high variability and heritability, meaning they can be improved through selection. Traits that were directly related to higher grain yield were identified, which can help in choosing better-performing plants for future crops.
