Gender inequality in the United States is a big issue, with women earning less than men. A study looked at a crowdfunding website for teachers to see if this inequality is related to gender. When teachers were anonymous, there was no difference in funding likelihood. But when their gender was known, there was a big gap in funding. This shows that gender gaps in jobs and behavior only happen because of gender bias, not because of actual differences. This means that estimates of gender inequality are actually lower than they should be by about thirty percent.
