Dual-temperature heat pumps slash energy costs, revolutionize home heating.
A new heat pump system was designed to save energy by producing both hot and warm water. It's better than the old system and uses special technology called ejector-vapor compression. Tests showed it works well with different coolants, especially R290. The new system also does better with high hot water needs. It's more sensitive to how cold the water gets than how hot it gets. Overall, the new design is up to 48.9% more efficient than the old one, and it does best with R290 coolant. This research sets a strong base for more studies on this system.
