New Study Shows Better Method for Hip Surgery Complications Control
The study compared different methods to adjust for factors that could affect outcomes in patients who had hip replacement surgery. They looked at direct matching, propensity score matching, and propensity score stratification with different numbers of groups. The researchers found that all methods helped control for these factors, but direct matching resulted in more loss of information and sample size. Propensity score stratification with 100 groups showed the best balance between patients with and without complications after surgery.
