A new method using ZnCl2 as a "nitrogen bank" has been developed to prevent nitrogen loss during the conversion of nitrogen-containing carbon materials. This strategy helps retain nitrogen in the final carbon product, resulting in higher nitrogen content. The nitrogen-doped carbon produced using this approach demonstrates improved catalytic performance for the oxygen reduction reaction.
