The study looked at how well different industries in India are doing in terms of productivity and efficiency. They used data from 61 industries over a period of 32 years. The results showed that most industries are not improving in productivity. Some industries like electrical and food are becoming less efficient. Industries that need a lot of capital are also not doing well. Overall, policies meant to improve efficiency have not had much impact, except for textiles and electrical industries.
