Homes with Insulated Panels Slash Energy Costs, Boost Comfort for Millions
The research looks at ways to make buildings more energy efficient by comparing different wall structures in residential buildings. They focused on the heat loss around windows (specifically the window jambs) as a key area for improving efficiency. By using computer simulations, they found that buildings with insulated panel walls lose less heat through the window jambs compared to buildings with aerated concrete walls. In fact, the heat loss in the window jamb area of buildings made with insulated panels is consistently lower than in buildings made with aerated concrete walls, regardless of the climate. This information can help architects and builders choose more energy-efficient designs for new constructions – saving both energy and costs in the long run.
