Trade facilitation measures in trade agreements help make it easier for Peruvian exporters to do business. By simplifying and improving import and export processes, these measures benefit firms involved in global value chains. The study looked at Peruvian customs data to see how these measures affect different types of firms. The results show that firms in global value chains benefit the most from trade facilitation provisions, especially when they import goods from the trade agreement partner. In Peru, these measures help firms import goods more efficiently, leading to better export performance.
