The ER model used in Information Systems can lose important information when transformed into a Relational Database Schema. This study aims to improve existing solutions to preserve more information during the transformation process. By modifying the ER model and transformation algorithm, the researchers show that a one-to-one mapping can exist from the ER schema to its RDS for any real-world application. Their new generic ER schema can represent any phenomena symbolically and offers advantages over previous models in accurately representing real-world applications.
