Drastic land use changes in Cameroon lead to environmental degradation.
Humans have changed the land in the Sabga-Bamunka area in Cameroon a lot from 1980 to 2020. They used satellite images and field observations to see how the land was used. They found that there are fewer forests and grasslands now, and more settlements and farmland. This happened because more people live there now and need space for homes and farming. To stop this change, they suggest using less wood, being careful with forests, and talking about how to protect the land.
