Climate change causing vegetation degradation in Tibetan river basin, study finds.
The study looked at how climate change and drought affect vegetation in an alpine river basin in Tibet, China. They used data from satellites and weather stations to see how vegetation, rainfall, temperature, and drought changed from 1981 to 2015. They found that vegetation in the area is getting greener in some parts but degrading in others. The growth of shrubs was better than other types of vegetation. Precipitation and drought were good for vegetation, but higher temperatures were bad for it. In some areas, rainfall and temperature affected vegetation one month later. This information helps us understand how climate change impacts vegetation in this region.
