Infertility crisis averted: Antioxidants may restore male fertility by reducing sperm DNA damage.
The research aimed to link sperm DNA damage with sperm quality and antioxidant levels in Iraqi men. They studied sperm samples from infertile males with different sperm issues. The results showed that males with lower sperm quality had higher levels of damaged sperm DNA. Additionally, the study found that the activity of an antioxidant called SOD was increased in males with sperm issues. This suggests that high sperm DNA damage might lead to poor semen quality.
