Economic Growth Comes at a Cost: Degradation of Environmental Quality Inevitable
In this study, researchers looked at how rich countries affect the environment. They divided 62 countries based on income levels and checked if higher economic growth makes the environment worse. By studying carbon dioxide emissions, they found that as countries get richer, the environment may not always improve – it might even get worse. They used a fancy technique called Panel Data to gather and analyze the data. The results showed that as countries develop more, their impact on the environment tends to get worse, rather than better. This suggests that when countries grow economically, they might harm the environment more. This study emphasizes the need for important policies to balance economic growth with protecting the environment.
