The article discusses how to assess the environmental impact of heating systems in agricultural buildings using a combination of building energy simulation (BES) and life cycle assessment (LCA). The researchers found that using a kerosene-powered boiler in a greenhouse has the largest environmental impact in terms of acidification, global warming, and eutrophication. The main factor contributing to greenhouse gas emissions is the type, amount, and source of energy used for heating, which can account for up to 96.69% of emissions depending on the greenhouse gas considered.
