Transforming household waste into nutrient-rich fertilizer for sustainable agriculture in Cameroon
Household organic waste in Cameroon's capital city was successfully recycled into nutrient-rich vermicompost for sustainable agriculture. The waste was pre-composted for 23 days, then mixed with earthworms for 46 days. The vermicompost had neutral pH, low C/N ratio, and high nutrient levels. It passed a phytotoxicity test, showing it's safe for plants. This method can turn organic waste into fertilizer for sustainable farming in Cameroon.
