New bio-oil production method reduces emissions and fights global warming!
Researchers studied how to make bio-oil from burning plant waste to reduce pollution. They mixed two types of plants, Borassus flabellifer and Cymbopogon flexuosus, and heated them in a special oven. By using the right temperature, size of the plants, and heating speed, they got the most bio-oil. The best result was 47.10% bio-oil when heated to 500 ºC, with 1.0 mm plants, and a heating rate of 30 ºC/min. They checked the bio-oil using special tools like FTIR and GC to see what it was made of.
