The researchers studied how applying zinc fertilizer at different times and rates affects the quantity and quality of faba bean plants. They conducted an experiment with different application times (before flowering and beginning of pod setting) and rates (0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 liters/ha of zinc solution). Results showed that the weight of pod coats and the number of filled pods per plant were significantly influenced by the timing of zinc application. The amount of protein in the seeds was also affected. Overall, applying zinc fertilizer increased the yield of faba beans, with the highest yields seen with the highest rate of application.
