New software quality models could revolutionize user experience in technology.
Different software quality models focus on different aspects of software quality, leading to potential misunderstandings in quality assessments. A study analyzed 23 quality models to see what aspects of quality they address. Models that only look at source code quality can be fully automated but miss out on user satisfaction aspects. Models that consider software behavior or user perception require human input for assessment. A taxonomy was created to help interpret quality assessment results and choose the right model for a project. It's important to consider which aspects of quality a model measures to accurately interpret assessment results.
