Negative agricultural policies in Iraq lead to decreased employment opportunities.
The article analyzes how economic factors affect agricultural employment in Iraq from 1990 to 2017. By studying agricultural workforce, wages, investment, and GDP, the researchers found a long-term relationship between these variables and the size of agricultural employment. Negative policies towards the agricultural sector have reduced demand for agricultural jobs and efficiency of labor. To improve the situation, the researchers suggest investing in human resources, increasing private sector investments, and creating new job opportunities to address different types of unemployment in the country.
