Bioenergy key to Finland's carbon neutrality target by 2035.
The study looked at how bioenergy can help Finland reach its carbon neutrality goal by 2035. Bioenergy is a big part of renewable energy in Finland, but more needs to be done to meet the target. By 2035, bioenergy will make up around 70% of renewable energy, mostly in heat production. However, achieving significant emission reductions will also need more electrification in all energy sectors, as bioenergy alone won't be enough to replace fossil fuels on a large scale. University students surveyed were unsure if the carbon neutrality target can be met by 2035, especially in the transport sector.
